Matthew Morrison Charlotte Concert reviews
Train/Goo Goo Dolls at Meriweather Post Pavillion
"We hadn't seen the Goo Goo Dolls before and it had been some time since Matthew Morrison. But, neither band disappointed. The venue was incredible, and it was a great show from start to finish. I was amazed at how much they've done to Merriweather Post Pavilion over the years since I hadn't been there since the mid-80's. The addition of the Sky Lawn was genius; there is truly not a bad seat in the house. The Goo Goo Dolls opened with a lot of energy and enthusiasm, playing all their hits plus a number of other popular songs. Matthew Morrison followed up by playing a bunch of their hit songs, although there were a few I would have liked to have heard that they didn't play. Pat Monahan interacted with the crowd a lot, and the band also did a couple of covers by Led Zeppelin and Tom Petty. Overall, it was a great night and well worth the cost of the tickets! If you have a chance to go see them, by all means, go. You won't be disappointed!"
